The road

The road
to bougainvillea sunrise
beneath native cherry trees
is a dark shaft of air
mined by first trucks
from the vineyards,
blasting silence
and setting off
a backyard dog
still chained to night
into a sharp shudder of noise,
before the blast
and hot cataracts of light
a myriad ignition of flames
and fall of petalled fire

Hawaiian Torch
before a detonation
of the sun

Loving these Jeff. About to head off on three weeks holiday, but I'll check in every day. Lindsay
